Dr. Sydney Bader

Dr. Sydney Bader obtained his BDS from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa in 1981 and completed his Endodontic speciality in 1993 at Temple University, Philadelphia USA.

Dr. Bader practised general dentistry for 10 years in North Ryde and has been practising as an Endodontist in Chatswood since 1993.

Dr. Bader also has specialist endodontic practices in Dee Why, Gosford and Ballina.

Dr. Bader is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists (ANZAE), the Australian Society of Endodontology (ASE) and the Australian Dental Association (ADA).

Dr. Bader has travelled periodically to South East Asia to teach and provide endodontic treatment to the underprivileged.


Dr. John Barbat

Dr. John Barbat obtained his BDSc in 1977 from the University of Queensland and MDSc in 1996 from the University of Melbourne. He is a specialist clinical associate at Sydney University and has actively been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including courses with ADA NSW.

Dr. Barbat is a fellow of Pierre Fauchard Academy, a fellow of the International College of Dentists and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Endodontists (ANZAE), the Australian Society of Endodontology (ASE) and the Australian Dental Association (ADA). He is also a Member of the Royal Australian College of Dentists and has lectured both in Australia and overseas.  Dr. Barbat is on the Dental Specialist Register of the General Dental Council in the United Kingdom, is a peer reviewer for the Australian Endodontic Journal and has published articles in the prestigious American Journal of Endodontics and the Australian Endodontic Journal

Dr. Barbat served as a dental officer in the Royal Australian Army Dental Corp and has practised general dentistry in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has been practising full time as an Endodontist in Chatswood since 1996.


Dr. James Wealleans

Dr. James Wealleans is originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, he is married and has 2 children.

Dr. Wealleans obtained his Doctor of Dental Medicine with honors from Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2006 and completed an Advanced General Dentistry Residency in 2007 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In 2010, Dr. Wealleans graduated Endodontic Residency from the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center and Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Wealleans is an American Board-Certified Endodontist, an accomplishment that only 20% of the specialty obtain.

James served as the Director of Endodontic Residency Training and Education from 2013-2018 at Wilford Hall Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. He has held teaching appointments as Associate Professor with Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and Assistant Professor with University of Texas Health Sciences, San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Wealleans has authored over 12 published research papers and serves as a scientific advisor for the Journal of Endodontics. In 2017, James invented guided endodontic microsurgery, a revolutionary method for surgical applications, for which he holds two US patents. He lectures extensively both nationally and internationally.

In 2018, after serving 20 honorable years in the Air Force, Dr. Wealleans retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel. James relocated to Sydney and devotes his time practising endodontics on the North Shore.

Dr. James Wealleans
